Information from the MTV site indicated that the "Strong Republic" bloc held a meeting via Zoom last night, during which discussions took place regarding the legislative session called by the Speaker of Parliament for Thursday. There are indications that the bloc received information about preparations for a scenario to not approve the postponement of the Army Chief's retirement in the session. The bloc decided to participate in the session, with additional communications expected today. Notably, there was a call yesterday between MP George Adwan and caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, during which Adwan conveyed the atmosphere to Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea. Geagea then contacted Maronite Patriarch Bechara Raï to coordinate positions.
As we anticipate some escalatory statements today, particularly from the Christian group not participating in the government, the Kataeb Party's political bureau will hold a meeting at 4 PM to determine its stance on participation in the session. Additionally, a series of meetings and communications will be held to follow up on this matter.
