Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir led a morning incursion of settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque, under heavy protection from Israeli police. According to the "Wafa" agency, "dozens of settlers, led by the extremist Ben-Gvir, entered Al-Aqsa in groups, marking what they call the 'destruction of the alleged Temple,' entering through the Mughrabi Gate, and performed racist Talmudic rituals in its courtyards."
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned this act, considering it a "serious Israeli escalation within the plans to Judaize Jerusalem and change its identity." The ministry held Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "fully and directly responsible for this provocative incursion, and demands urgent international intervention to protect Jerusalem and its holy sites, particularly the Al-Aqsa Mosque," affirming, "We view this incursion with great seriousness, considering it a dangerous escalation, and we call on the U.S. administration to translate its positions into actions that compel the occupying state to halt its illegal unilateral actions."
The Jordanian Foreign Ministry also condemned Ben-Gvir's "incursion into Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem," warning of the "serious repercussions" of such actions. Spokesperson Sinan al-Majali stated: "The act of an Israeli minister invading the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Haram al-Sharif and violating its sanctity, along with the actions of extremists, represents a provocative step and a blatant and unacceptable violation of international law and the historical and legal status of Jerusalem and its sacred sites."
