Deputy Speaker of the House Elias Bou Saab received U.S. Ambassador Dorothy Shia in his office at the Parliament during a farewell visit to conclude her diplomatic mission in Lebanon. The meeting touched on their significant cooperation, which led to achievements in several files, most notably maritime demarcation. They also discussed developments on the southern front and the role the U.S. administration plays in avoiding escalation and preventing war. For her part, the U.S. ambassador highlighted the "recent legislative achievement and the positive role of the Deputy Speaker, which contributed to the approval of certain laws that serve the interests of the Lebanese people, including the Sovereign Wealth Fund Law." Bou Saab thanked Ambassador Shia for all her efforts during her tenure in Lebanon, noting that she played an effective role in many issues that assisted a large number of Lebanese, in addition to the Lebanese Army and security institutions.
