The Russian Emergency Situations Agency confirmed that the number of homes flooded by spring floods increased by 1,700 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to nearly 18,000. The highest number of affected homes is in the Orenburg and Kurgan Regions, according to operational services reported to TASS.
A source from the agency stated, "As of the morning of April 18, 17,808 residential houses were submerged in 210 towns and 175 plots of land associated with rural homes, with an increase of more than 1,700 in one day, particularly in the Orenburg and Kurgan regions." The source added that "water has flooded 32,593 plots belonging to rural homes, which is an increase of 1,554 homes compared to the previous day, in addition to 95 bridges and 77 specialized roadways."
