Haniya: Israel is Evading and Not Responding to Our Just Demands

Ismail Haniya, the head of Hamas's political bureau, accused Israel of "evading," reiterating his movement's commitment to its demands for a permanent ceasefire, a complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, and the return of displaced persons. In a speech on the occasion of Jerusalem Day, Haniya stated, "The Zionist occupation is evading and not responding to our just demands for an end to the war and aggression." He continued, "Netanyahu's concern is to remain in power for as long as possible," affirming "the commitment to Hamas's demands, which include a permanent ceasefire, complete withdrawal from the territory, full return of the displaced to their homes, provision of all necessary aid to our people in Gaza, reconstruction of the strip, lifting the siege, and achieving a dignified prisoner exchange deal."
