The commander of the naval forces of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri, called for the establishment of an alliance of Islamic armies to confront Israel. In a television interview, Tangsiri stated, "The only way to fight the Zionists is to create an alliance of Islamic armies." He added that "Zionists have not won in the Gaza war, have not defeated Hamas, and have been unable to free the prisoners; therefore, they have failed in this war."
On another note, Tangsiri confirmed that "Hezbollah is stronger than it was at the beginning of the war, and all resistance movements surrounding the Zionist entity are stronger." He indicated that "Yemen is an independent country, and the resistance there is an independent force already established to eradicate oppression; they do not obey our orders."
He also remarked, "The presence of the Zionists in the Emirates poses a threat to Iran... We can close the Strait of Hormuz if we want to, but we are not doing that... We are now responsible for the security of this region, and traffic in the Strait of Hormuz is continuous."
Regarding the Iranian response to the Israeli attack on the consulate in Damascus, Tangsiri said, "At the appropriate time, the relevant officials will deliver a strong slap, and we will definitely respond to the bombing of the Iranian consulate in Damascus."
