New Prisoner Exchange Deal Between Tel Aviv and Hamas Revealed by Hebrew Media

Hebrew Channel 12 disclosed a proposal for a new prisoner exchange deal between Tel Aviv and Hamas, mediated by Egypt. The channel explained that the Egyptian proposal includes a ceasefire for three weeks, during which 40 Israeli prisoners would be released in exchange for 120 Palestinian prisoners.

The Hebrew channel confirmed that both Tel Aviv and Hamas have rejected the new Egyptian proposal, while the community in the entity is closely monitoring Egypt's efforts to promote a new deal that could lead to a prisoner exchange with Hamas.

The channel noted that officials refuse to comment on the details of the Egyptian offer but affirmed that there are two negotiation tracks: one through Cairo and the other with Qatar. A source quoted by the channel stated that at this stage, there is no breakthrough in either track, with many difficulties present; however, both channels remain active.

Additionally, Channel 13 reported, citing an Israeli official, that "Egypt has presented Israel and Hamas with a new offer regarding a prisoner exchange deal consisting of three stages, with emphasis on the full approval of the occupation regarding the deal."

The first stage involves the release of about 40 Israeli detainees, including women, the sick, and elderly men, in exchange for a ceasefire lasting one to three weeks. The second stage entails the release of Israeli female soldiers and remains. Meanwhile, the third stage poses a significant dilemma for Israel, calling for "the release of Israeli men and soldiers against the release of Palestinian fighters, the withdrawal of the occupation army from Gaza, and establishing a comprehensive ceasefire."

The channel highlighted that there is no complete Israeli approval of the Egyptian proposal, though Tel Aviv has no issue agreeing to the first phase, which is similar to the previous deal.
