Lebanese "Hezbollah" announced early on Sunday morning that it targeted Israeli sites in response to Israel's shelling of the Baalbek area in Lebanon. "Hezbollah" stated in a press release: "In response to the shelling of one of the locations in the city of Baalbek, the resistance targeted the rocket and artillery base in Yoav and the Kilia barracks (the Air Defense and Missile Command HQ) at 1:10 AM on Sunday, March 24, 2024, with more than sixty Katyusha rockets."

This announcement by "Hezbollah" followed a statement from the Israeli military, which claimed: "Earlier, warplanes struck a workshop containing weapons systems belonging to Hezbollah in the Baalbek area." The Israeli army reported detecting "approximately 50 rockets" fired from Lebanon "towards northern Israel," noting that it "intercepted a number of them." The Israeli military added that "the Defense Forces' aircraft attacked the platforms used to launch some of these rockets." Israel reported no injuries or damage.
