A unit of the army, supported by a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence, carried out a raid to apprehend drug dealers and their gang members in the Shatila - Hungary area. During the operation, there was an exchange of gunfire that resulted in the death of one suspect and injuries to another. Additionally, 37 individuals involved in drug trafficking in Beirut and other areas were arrested. A large quantity of cocaine, cannabis, and ecstasy tablets were seized, along with military weapons and ammunition. The seized items were handed over, and an investigation into the detainees began under the supervision of the relevant judiciary.
