On Thursday, Emirati President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan at the Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi. At the beginning of the meeting, the Foreign Minister conveyed the condolences of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for the death of Sheikh Hazza bin Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, according to "WAM."
The two sides discussed enhancing cooperation and joint work between the UAE and Turkey in various fields, within the framework of their strategic relations and comprehensive economic partnership. They also reviewed the developments in the Middle East, including regional and international efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and respond to the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the area. They emphasized the necessity of the international community to fulfill its responsibilities in supporting a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the region based on a two-state solution as the way to ensure a secure future for the peoples of the region and to maintain regional security and peace.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed affirmed the UAE’s support for all efforts aimed at achieving security, stability, and peace at both the regional and international levels.
