Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani confirmed that relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia "are moving in the right direction" and that "the outlook for relations between the two countries is bright." Kanani stated in a press conference, "We are witnessing the continuation of discussions between the two countries at various levels, especially at the political and economic levels." He added, "The presence of the Saudi economic delegation at the 'Iran Expo' demonstrates the Saudi government's perspective aligned with Iran's viewpoint in laying the groundwork for developing economic relations." He continued, "We have had economic issues since the beginning of discussions between the two countries to resume relations, and we believe in giving momentum to economic and trade relations, with talks ongoing in this direction." Kanani also noted, "At the same time, an Iranian delegation is present in Riyadh at two levels, with the Iranian ministerial delegation led by Ehsan Khandozi (Minister of Economy) in Riyadh to participate in the Islamic Development Bank meeting," adding that this is "an opportunity to utilize capabilities within Iran's participation in the bank's activities and cooperation with this bank." He stated, "Additionally, a delegation led by Mehdi Safari (Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs) will participate in the 'Davos' summit in Riyadh, and we consider the outlook ahead of us in relations to be bright, as the ambassadors continuously monitor bilateral relations according to the provided instructions."
