The Israeli army stated that its fighter jets targeted infrastructure and mortar launchers of the Syrian army in what it described as a response to the launch of two missiles from Syria toward Israel on Tuesday. The army added that it detected the launch of the missiles from Syria before they fell in two open areas late on Tuesday, and it responded with artillery fire on the launch sites. In another response, the army stated that its fighter jets "struck military infrastructure and mortar launch platforms belonging to the Syrian army." The army did not provide further details and did not accuse the Syrian army of firing the missiles that triggered alarm sirens in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. There has been no comment from Syria yet. In recent days, Israel has exchanged fire with Lebanese "Hezbollah" and armed groups in Syria along its northern border, while primarily engaging with the Palestinian group "Hamas" in the Gaza Strip following a deadly attack in Israel.
