There is ambiguity surrounding the condition of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who was accompanied by Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian during their visit to East Azerbaijan Province when the helicopter transporting them encountered an accident. The Fars News Agency has called on Iranians to pray for the president, while the IRNA news agency confirmed that difficult weather conditions are complicating rescue efforts. Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi stated on Sunday that President Raisi's plane faced a "hard landing," adding, "We have contacted the president's team and are waiting for the rescue team to arrive, and communications in the area are difficult." He further mentioned that "rescue teams have not yet reached the site of the helicopter accident due to poor weather and fog." Supporters close to the Iranian government posted an image bearing the phrase: "May God have mercy on the martyr Raisi." Meanwhile, Israeli sites confirmed that the Iranian president's helicopter crashed, and all onboard were killed, sharing this image.
