The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, issued a statement indicating that a communication took place today between the head of the movement's political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, and the Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Ziad Al-Nakhalah. They reviewed the field and political developments occurring in the Palestinian arena, particularly regarding the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle. According to the statement from Hamas, there was a consultation about initiatives to end the aggression against Gaza, emphasizing that the study of the new ceasefire proposal is based on ensuring that any negotiations lead to a complete end to the aggression and the withdrawal of the occupation forces from the Gaza Strip.
The dialogue stressed the necessity of lifting the siege, reconstruction, and providing all necessities for the Palestinian people's livelihood, as well as achieving a comprehensive prisoner swap agreement. Both Haniyeh and Al-Nakhalah affirmed that the resistance factions would act in the best interest of the Palestinian people and their protection. They regarded the heroic steadfastness of the Palestinians, the bravery of the resistance, and the political will in the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle, along with the suffering of the Palestinian people in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and all areas of their presence, as key to achieving freedom, return, and independence for the Palestinian people.
