The Xinhua Agency announced that China has successfully launched a new satellite for remote sensing of the Earth. In a post by the agency, it was stated: "China successfully launched the new Yaogan-39 satellite for remote sensing of the Earth last Sunday, at 09:58 local time (04:58 Moscow time) from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center." According to the agency, "the satellite was launched using a Chinese Long March-2D rocket, marking the 500th time China has used Long March rockets for space launch operations." The Yaogan-39 satellites provide high-resolution imaging capabilities anywhere on Earth throughout the day and can be used in geological exploration, urban planning projects, agricultural and environmental measurements, and disaster warning. In recent years, China has been actively developing its own space program, enhancing spacecraft, rockets, and satellites, and has launched many satellites into Earth orbits, including its orbital station for scientific purposes.
