A source from the Moroccan Ministry of Trade stated today that "the ministry intends to impose anti-dumping duties on electric ovens imported from Turkey at a rate of 62 percent to protect the local market." The source added that the Turkish brand (Aitmad) will be subject to an import duty of only 34 percent. The ministry indicated on its website that the dumping margin for Turkish oven companies reached 71.4 percent, while the dumping margin for Aitmad was 34 percent. Morocco and Turkey signed a free trade agreement in 2004, which was modified in 2020 to impose import duties on certain Turkish goods following complaints from Moroccan textile manufacturers.
