Qatar Stock Index Starts Transactions Up by 0.46%

The Qatar Stock Index began today's trading up by 0.46%, gaining 43.84 points to reach a level of 9666 points compared to the close of yesterday's session on Wednesday, supported by five sectors led by the transportation sector. The numbers released by the stock exchange attributed the rise in the general index to the positive performance of the transportation sector by 3.25%, the goods and consumer services sector by 1.26%, the real estate sector by 0.37%, the industrial sector by 0.28%, and the telecommunications sector by 0.15%. Conversely, the performance was negative for the insurance sector by 0.81% and the banking and financial services sector by 0.07%. The Qatar Stock Exchange recorded transactions valued at 108.608 million Qatari riyals around 10:00 AM, distributed across 49.148 million shares through 3472 transactions.
