Abdullah bin Zayed: The UAE Supports Mediation Efforts for Calm in Gaza

The UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, conducted phone discussions with Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry. They discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the Qatari and Egyptian efforts to reach a ceasefire and exchange of prisoners and hostages amidst concerns over military escalation in southern Gaza. The Emirati Foreign Minister praised the mediation efforts undertaken by the two brotherly countries and affirmed the UAE's support for them, expressing hope that they would lead to a cessation of hostilities, thereby sparing the brotherly Palestinian people further suffering and serving security, stability, and peace in the region. He also emphasized the importance of enhancing the humanitarian response to the needs of the people in Gaza and ensuring the timely, safe, and sustainable delivery of relief and medical assistance without obstacles, according to "WAM."
