Damage to Food Warehouses in Russian Attack in Western Ukraine

Ukrainian officials revealed today, Thursday, that debris from a fallen missile injured one person and damaged food warehouses in the Khmelnytskyi region of western Ukraine after air forces destroyed a missile and 16 drones launched by Russia. The Ukrainian army stated that Russia launched 18 drones and an unspecified number of missiles in overnight attacks and early morning, but the exact number of projectiles targeting the area remains unclear. It is also not immediately clear where the two drones that bypassed Ukrainian air defenses fell.

Serhiy Tyurin, the first deputy head of the regional administration, reported that a driver was injured when debris hit his truck. He added, "At the food warehouse site, the debris caused damage to the roof and windows of a workshop, a three-story building, and seven containers used for storing vegetable oils." During the attacks that occurred this morning, residents of the town of Starokostiantyniv were urged to take shelter. The town has an airbase that has been repeatedly targeted by Russian airstrikes.

Separately, Ukrainian authorities reported that unspecified civilian infrastructure in the Kharkiv region in eastern Ukraine, along the border with Russia, was damaged due to "S-300" missiles, but no fatalities or injuries were reported. The Ministry of Energy stated that Russian shelling also targeted a power station in the eastern Donetsk region, causing damage to equipment.

In Kherson, Governor Oleksandr Prokudin reported today that at least one person was killed and two injured in Russian shelling of the southern region of Ukraine.
