Today, Monday, House Speaker Nabih Berri apologized for not accepting Eid al-Fitr greetings due to the current circumstances, wishing Lebanese people in general and Muslims in particular a blessed Eid. Berri stated, "Festivities cannot be complete without relieving this cloud over the nation and over Palestine. On Eid al-Fitr, I pay tribute to the Lebanese and Palestinian resistance, to the martyrs and their great sacrifices, to their families and their beautiful patience, and to the steadfast individuals among our people in the border villages and towns with occupied Palestine and the displaced among them. Eid is about returning, generously, to the land they have shown unmatched loyalty to, and about the efforts of sincere individuals in Lebanon across different political and spiritual orientations with genuine intentions to find solutions for the crises threatening our country, for without it, no celebration holds any value."
