The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has announced the relocation of two matches for the Israel national team in the Euro 2024 qualifiers to Hungary, due to the inability to organize any games on Israeli territory for security reasons. UEFA made this decision amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement. Israel currently sits in third place in Group 9 of the Euro 2024 qualifiers and is now set to face Switzerland on November 15 and Romania on November 18 in the Hungarian city of Vélixot. Before these matches, the Israeli team will visit Kosovo on November 12 for a postponed match that was initially scheduled for October 15 but was canceled due to Israeli authorities preventing the team from "traveling abroad." Israel will conclude its qualifying campaign with a match against host Andorra on November 21. A significant competition is underway among three teams for direct qualification in Group 9, with Romania holding 16 points from eight games, Switzerland 15 from seven, and Israel 11 from six.
