The Chairperson of the Russian Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, granted the newly elected President Vladimir Putin a "President of the Republic" card following his victory in the recent Russian presidential elections. After the Central Election Commission announced the official results, Putin stated that he "will do his utmost to justify the trust of the Russian citizens in him, and that all the large-scale national projects and programs he spoke of in his address to the Federal Assembly will be implemented."
During her meeting with President Putin on Tuesday, election commission head Pamfilova remarked that "critics of Russia relied on terrorism in the recent presidential elections with the help of their Ukrainian partners, and on intimidating people and instilling fear and panic; however, they also played a significant role in uniting our people with their actions, as voter turnout was high, and the result was overwhelming." The Russian presidential elections took place from March 15-17, and after processing 100% of the voters' ballots, incumbent President Vladimir Putin received 87.28% of the votes.
