Iran: Developing Cooperation with BRICS is One of Our Foreign Policy Strategies

Iran's ambassador to Moscow, Kazem Jalali, confirmed during a meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov that developing cooperation with the BRICS group is one of the country's foreign policy strategies. Jalali and Ryabkov discussed cooperation among BRICS member states during their meeting in Moscow. The Iranian embassy in Moscow announced that the first meeting of representatives from BRICS member states will be held in Moscow next week to review the group's plans and objectives for 2024.

During this meeting, the necessity of cooperation between the two countries was emphasized to strengthen BRICS and promote multipolarity, as well as to confront the unilateral coercive measures by some countries that have endangered international peace and security. The Iranian ambassador considered the development of cooperation with BRICS as a key strategy of Iran's foreign policy, stating that Iran will seriously participate in the planned BRICS programs. He also announced Iran's readiness to collaborate with regional and international organizations to create a fair world filled with peace and stability.

For his part, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov described the cooperation between the two countries in regional and international organizations as fruitful, highlighting Russia's presidency in BRICS and reaffirming Tehran's effective role in the group. The meeting next week in Moscow will be the first gathering of representatives from BRICS member states with the presence of five new members.
