"Joy Awards": A Rare Appearance by Najat Al-Saghira and the Retirement of the Legend

The eyes of the Arab world were turned towards the Saudi capital last Saturday evening, where the Joy Awards ceremony was held, celebrating entertainment industry professionals. Artists from the Arab world and beyond gathered to receive and present awards at the event. This year's ceremony featured a unique award called the "Leader of Arab Art" Award, presented by Turki Al-Sheikh, the Chairman of the Entertainment Authority in the Kingdom. This award was given to the legendary Adel Imam, with director Rami Imam and his brother Mohamed Imam accepting it on his behalf.

Before their speech, a video was shown highlighting a small part of Adel Imam's history, concluding with a special voice message from the legend for the Joy Awards event. In his rare message, Adel Imam said, "Thank you… I am full of loyalty and love for you… may all your days be filled with happiness… I love you very, very, very much."

This one-time award elicited significant reactions from the audience. Mohamed Adel Imam began by thanking the Saudi people for their warm reception, which he noted happens consistently. Meanwhile, director Rami Imam spoke about their father's role in raising them, acknowledging that despite his busy artistic career, he never forgot his duties as a father, instilling in them the meaning of family. Imam sent a heartfelt salute to the Palestinian people.

The event featured an exceptional surprise when Najat Al-Saghira took to the stage, making her first appearance in over 20 years. Having stayed away from the spotlight for a long time, it was the Joy Awards that brought her back. She performed her famous song "Ayuun Al-Qalb" and received an enthusiastic tribute from the audience.
