Atalanta Reaches Europa League Final for the First Time in History

Atalanta from Italy has reached the final of the UEFA Europa League for the first time in its history after defeating French club Marseille 3-0 on Thursday in the second leg of the semifinal. The goals for Atalanta were scored by Nigerian Ademola Lookman (30), Matteo Ruggeri (52), and substitute Malian Bilel Touré (90+5). The Italian team, which drew 1-1 with the French side in the first leg, will play in a European final for the first time since its establishment in 1907. The final will be between Atalanta and German Bayer Leverkusen on May 22 at the "San Mamés" stadium in Spain. Bayer Leverkusen reached the final by drawing 2-2 with Italian club Roma, the runner-up of last year's edition, on Thursday at the "BayArena" in Leverkusen in the second leg of the semifinal.
