Severe Floods Cause Deaths and Major Damage in Iran

At least 7 people have died and others are missing due to floods that struck the city of Mashhad, the center of Khorasan Razavi Province in northeastern Iran, along with significant damages, according to "Russia Today." Hamid Reza Kafiani, the executive director of rescue operations in Mashhad, noted that "the number of deaths and missing persons may rise in the coming hours," adding that "Revolution Square was the main operational point during the flood incident, where teams are stationed with rescue boats searching for trapped vehicles." Additionally, the governor of Mashhad, Mohsen Dowari, announced the relocation of residents from surrounding villages to safe areas after their homes were damaged by the floods, confirming the collapse of several rural houses.
