A "microbus" carrying several female agricultural workers fell from the Abu Ghalib ferry into the Nile River in Egypt, located between the Monufia and Giza governorates, resulting in the deaths and injuries of more than 15 individuals. Eyewitnesses stated that the vehicle was coming from the Manashi area, carrying several young women who commute daily to the other bank of the Nile River to work at an agricultural export company. They noted that local residents succeeded in rescuing 6 girls from the vehicle, while the remaining passengers are still in the water, with fishermen from the area joining the search efforts along with river rescue teams that have arrived.
