The Sarour family, along with the residents of Al-Labweh in northern Bekaa, held a press conference in Al-Labweh following the murder of Mohammad Sarour. The conference was attended by MPs Ali al-Maqdad and Ihab Hamadeh, along with various community figures and the Sarour family.
In a statement read on behalf of the family by Hassan Sarour, he spoke about Mohammad Sarour's professional history, saying, "He worked in finance, and he never harmed anyone in his life, nor did he have any suspicious relationships." He added, "We lost contact with Haj Mohammad seven days ago; we notified the security forces, and he was found bleeding in an apartment in Beit Merry. We thank the security forces in general, and particularly the Information Branch, which uncovered the crime."
Hassan Sarour also questioned, "Who lured Haj Mohammad to this location, what was the purpose of luring him, and what was the aim of killing him in such a manner and at this time? What are the objectives of this crime, and who is responsible for it?"
The family urged the state to fulfill its responsibilities, stating, "The residents of Al-Labweh and northern Bekaa affirm that the truth must be revealed, and we will not allow his blood to be wasted without the perpetrator facing the necessary consequences. We seek only the truth, highlighting the need to punish the criminal who planned, executed, and incited this act. We warn against treating the crime as a mere incident."
Hassan Sarour concluded: "On behalf of the residents of Al-Labweh and the family, we will not remain silent about this incident with full responsibility. Mohammad Sarour is a martyr of the homeland, and we will have a date to bid farewell to him with his loved ones."
