British Policeman Stabbed in London

The British police announced that one of their officers in the capital, London, was stabbed while responding to a report of a man with a knife. A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after the officer sustained serious injuries to his shoulder. The police stated that other officers disarmed the suspect and detained him, after which the officer was transported to the hospital by the London ambulance service. He is in stable condition. The suspect was injured during the arrest and has been released from the hospital; he is now in police custody. Assistant Commissioner Matt Jukes said, "This officer displayed tremendous bravery in apprehending an armed suspect with a knife. When I visited him in the hospital after his injury, I was struck by his courage and humility. He did not want to talk about his actions, but wanted to commend the professionalism of the police paramedic and his fellow officers who provided him with vital first aid and arrested the suspect."
