On the First Day of Eid: Is Egypt Facing a Hurricane?

Member of the media center at the Egyptian Meteorological Authority, Manar Ghanem, clarified the reality of Egypt facing the destructive hurricane "Nihal" in the coming hours. Ghanem denied during televised statements on Masr 1 channel that the country will be affected by any hurricanes in the coming days, noting that there may be rainfall.

She stated, "The country will not be affected by any storm or hurricane in the coming days, but we will witness chances of rain during Eid, which is a very normal weather condition we are used to in the spring, and the rain will be normal."

Ghanem indicated that the country is affected by a low-pressure system that leads to the presence of low and medium clouds, blocking part of the sunlight, which results in a further decrease in temperatures.

She added that the nighttime weather will resemble winter conditions, as it will be slightly cool in most governorates. Ghanem pointed out that there will be an increase in wind activity as night falls, which is not dust- or sand-raising and helps to moderate the weather, mentioning a return of rainfall on the northern coasts and in the Nile Delta and canal cities.

Manar Ghanem, spokesperson for the Egyptian Meteorological Authority, confirmed that there is no truth to these claims, emphasizing that no movements of a hurricane or storm affecting Egypt have been observed in the coming days.
