DP World Wins Two Awards for Sustainability

DP World has won two new awards at the 2024 Business Sustainability Awards Ceremony organized by the "Seal" Foundation, which recognizes companies in the fields of sustainability, environmental achievement, and leadership, focusing on innovation and commitment to sustainable practices. The Seal Foundation awards highlighted well-known brands, high-growth startups, and advancing companies. The Environmental Initiatives Award was given to "DP World Santos" for repurposing waste materials for energy production instead of sending them to landfill. Additionally, DP World was honored for developing the BOXBAY system. This award celebrates sustainable innovation as BOXBAY has transformed the way containers are stored, organized, and transported, significantly reducing carbon emissions impact at container terminals. Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of DP World, stated that winning the Environmental Initiatives Award at "DP World Santos" in Brazil, after achieving 100% waste reuse, is a notable development confirming DP World's commitment to the responsible management of waste through the adoption of circular economy principles and smart design. He further remarked that winning the Sustainable Innovation Award for developing BOXBAY technology underscores the company's efforts to make significant transformations in logistics at container ports to achieve higher levels of efficiency and sustainability.
