NDU hosted the closing ceremony for the "NASA - Beirut Space Applications Challenge" awards, an event that took place at NDU, which is the official sponsor, on October 7-8, 2023. This is the largest annual hackathon in the world, organized in collaboration with major organizations, universities, and local and global companies in coordination with 11 space agencies. Lebanon is participating in this challenge for the third time, following numerous historic achievements in the previous two years. The ceremony was held at the university's main campus in Zouk Mosbeh, attended by former Minister of Telecommunications Nicolas Sehnaoui, Minister of Education Abbas Halabi represented by the General Director of Higher Education Mazen Khalil, President of NDU Father Bechara El Khoury, Vice President for Development Antoine Farhat, local space applications leader in Lebanon Antoine Tannous, alongside academic and educational figures. It is noteworthy that the next hackathon will be on October 5-6, 2024. The results of this challenge are as follows:
1. First Team: Aberration
2. Second Team: AD ASTRA
3. Third Team: AurOracle
4. Audience Choice Team: Solari
These four teams will participate in the global competition, hoping for victory and realizing their dream in the world of space. At the end of the meeting, certificates were distributed to the winners.
