Mongolian Deputy Prime Minister Senvoyanjing Amarsikhan indicated that "the work of burying the deceased livestock in the country, which approaches 7 million head, will be completed by May of this year." During a press conference, he stated: "As of April 18, more than 6.8 million grazing animals have died in the country due to harsh weather conditions, which represents 10.2% of Mongolia's total livestock. So far, 17% of the carcasses have been disposed of at 1,577 designated sites. By the beginning of May, this work will be fully completed." The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the expectations of 14.9 million farm animals (23.9% of the total livestock in the country) dying in Mongolia due to the cold in winter and spring have not materialized.
Earlier, Mongolian Prime Minister Luvsannamsrain Oyun-Erdene expressed gratitude to the Russian government for providing 8,500 tons of animal feed as humanitarian assistance to livestock breeders affected by the significant losses. The Prime Minister noted that this aid helps in "overcoming the difficult times" that the country is experiencing.
