Title: The Board of Trustees of the Druze Orphanage Takes Measures After Violations

In light of the violations uncovered against children, the Board of Trustees of the Druze Orphanage announced "the resignation of Mrs. Hayat Al-Nakadi from her position as Executive Director of the Druze Orphanage,” in addition to "appointing a temporary administrative committee to act in place of the Executive Director and make decisions with a two-thirds majority starting from 15/09/2023 to complete the handover procedures according to regulations."

It emphasized the need to "reorganize and restructure the institution and introduce new blood to face current and future challenges." It noted that "meetings are currently being held with an officially registered association that deals with the psychological and humanitarian issues of children to assess the situation at the Druze Orphanage and subsequently provide recommendations to rectify any deficiencies if present."

The Board of Trustees mentioned that "the Druze Orphanage has been contracted for years with an international auditing firm." It stated that "the Orphanage reaffirms that it has not and will not tolerate any employee found negligent or in violation of their duties or involved in any inappropriate behavior or any action that could harm the institution in any way, and that it has taken all legal measures against anyone accused of harassment."

It emphasized that "the Druze Orphanage complies with the law, and we request that the judiciary fulfills its duty if any violation exists, and we are ready to place all our resources at its disposal." It also called for "the harshest penalties against anyone found to be involved in any disgraceful act or abuse directed at any child."

The Druze Orphanage pledged to continue "making every effort to utilize our resources effectively in service and prosperity of this institution, reiterating our promise to follow in the footsteps of its founder, Aref Al-Nakadi." Earlier, instances of harassment and abuse at the Druze Orphanage against children were revealed.
