400,000 Tickets for the Paris Olympics to Be Released Next Week After Selling 7.2 Million Tickets

Organizers of the Paris 2024 Olympics announced today, Wednesday, that around 400,000 tickets for the competitions will be available for sale at the end of this month. Chief Operating Officer Mikael Aloisio stated that 7.2 million tickets have already been sold out of the 10 million that organizers aim to sell. Aloisio told reporters, "I don't think any other organizing committee has sold this number of tickets this quickly."

The organizers of the Paris 2024 Games have faced criticism over the prices of some tickets, but they mentioned on Wednesday that one-third of the newly released tickets will be "less than 50 euros" in all categories except for surfing. Approximately 30,000 tickets will be available on November 30 for athletics events, along with an additional 24,000 tickets for tennis.

Ticket prices for the opening ceremony—a long procession of boats on the Seine River—range from 90 to 2,700 euros. The organizers are also looking to sell 2.8 million tickets for the Paralympic Games and stated that they would provide details about the process by the end of the year.
