Local authorities reported that many residents in the Augsburg area were forced to leave their homes, with some being evacuated by helicopters. A water barrier and a dam collapsed, and the Schmatrer River overflowed, flooding roads. Similarly, the authorities in Aichach-Friedberg, Neu-Ulm, Bafinhausen, and Donau-Ries also declared a state of emergency to better coordinate relief efforts.
