Egypt's Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, indicated that the peace agreement with Israel has its own mechanisms activated to address any violations and deal with them if they exist. He added during a joint press conference with Slovenia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Tanja Fajon, that the peace agreement with Israel has been Egypt's strategic choice for 40 years and is the "main pillar of peace in the region." Shoukry emphasized the need for Israel to assume its responsibility regarding the closure of the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing, urging all parties to continue negotiations until a ceasefire in Gaza is reached.
