Egyptian Interior Ministry Clarifies After Airport Theft Video Circulation

After videos circulating on social media in recent days suggested thefts at airports, the Egyptian Ministry of Interior completely denied these claims. The ministry stated on its official page today, Monday, that "there is no truth to what has been circulated by channels affiliated with the terrorist Brotherhood regarding alleged thefts at airports."

It added that this comes as part of the desperate attempts by the terrorist Brotherhood to distort the facts and spread fabricated lies to create confusion after losing credibility among public opinion.

The Ministry mentioned that several clips had spread on social media, indicating that foreign currencies were being stolen from travelers after officials requested them to present the currencies to verify their value, ensuring they are within the allowable limits for leaving Egyptian territory.

This follows a crisis in foreign currency and the US dollar in the country, which prompted the central bank to adopt new policies that led to the liberalization of the US dollar exchange rate.
