Drug Traffickers Arrested in Hay al-Salem and Al-Amrousiyeh

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces announced that "in the context of ongoing monitoring of drug trafficking and promotion operations in various Lebanese areas, the Information Branch received data regarding two individuals promoting drugs on a motorcycle in the areas of Hay al-Salem and Al-Amrousiyeh.

As a result of exhaustive investigations, the branch identified them as follows: H. Sh. (born in 2002, Lebanese) and D. R. (born in 2004, Syrian). On May 7, 2024, following close observation, one of the branch's patrols succeeded in apprehending them in the act in Hay al-Salem while they were promoting drugs on a motorcycle that was found to be stolen from the Zoqaq al-Blat area on April 12, 2024.

Upon searching them and the motorcycle, the following items were seized:

- A military pistol with a magazine and usable ammunition.

- 33 plastic containers containing cocaine base.

- 6 bags containing salvia.

- Bags containing hashish.

- A sum of money.

During the investigation, they confessed to the charges against them regarding promoting drugs to several customers in Hay al-Salem and Al-Amrousiyeh using the motorcycle they were stopped on. Legal measures were taken against them, and they were referred along with the seized items to the appropriate authority as per judicial directives."
