The founding body of the Union of Workers and Employees of Mechanical Inspection held a warning sit-in in front of the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, blocking the road in protest against "the continued procrastination and indifference regarding the fate of this sector and its workers after two years of halting work in mechanical inspection, and to raise the voice for the resumption of operations in this sector."

The protesters indicated that "despite all the promises, we have not returned to our jobs and we are still without any resources or salary." They lamented "the state that the mechanical inspection centers have reached, which have been left to their fate, where looting and destruction have led to losses amounting to millions of dollars. Who will pay the bill? Isn't it us and the citizens?" They expressed surprise at "the state that this sector has reached, and why it has been neglected. If the proper measures had been taken a year or a few months ago, the situation wouldn't have deteriorated to this extent, where looting and losses in equipment and buildings prevail. Who is responsible for what we have reached?"

They concluded by demanding the Minister of Interior to "immediately resume work at the inspection centers for the sake of the employees and public safety, and if the state does not take the necessary measures and intervene in this sector, it is on the path to extinction."
