A Russian diplomat told Reuters on Thursday that United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres sent a proposal to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov this week concerning the revival of the grain supply agreement via the Black Sea. The diplomat, who reviewed the message and spoke on condition of anonymity, stated, "There is nothing new to reveal... it merely summarizes previous ineffective ideas from the UN." For his part, Secretary-General Antonio Guterres confirmed that the resumption of the grain supply agreement via the Black Sea should be stable and not face any crisis or suspension. He mentioned that he sent a coherent set of proposals to the Russian Foreign Minister to revive the agreement.
