Oil Depot Fires Turn Day into Night in Sudan

Violent clashes have intensified today, Thursday, with heavy weaponry in Sudan, accompanied by a significant presence of military aircraft, leading to fires and the rise of flames and smoke in oil depots. The fires have been raging since yesterday at the "Ammunition" factory and oil depots, as well as the "Yarmouk" munitions factory and "Armored Vehicles" weaponry in the "Shajara" area, south of the capital, Khartoum.

The Rapid Support Forces announced their complete control over the "Yarmouk" military industries factory. The U.S. envoy to the international coalition stated that the developments in Sudan are concerning on both humanitarian and security levels.

The RSF reported that they have achieved "full control over the complex and ammunition depots," indicating that army soldiers fled, leaving behind "quantities of military equipment and vehicles."

Condemnations

The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned the storming and vandalism of the Saudi Embassy, its diplomatic missions, the residence of its ambassador, and the properties of its employees, as well as the Bahraini Embassy and the residence of its ambassador in Khartoum. They emphasized the importance of protecting diplomatic buildings and the premises of embassy staff according to the customs and treaties governing diplomatic work.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its strong condemnation of these criminal acts, aimed at destabilizing security and stability, and which contradict moral and humanitarian values and principles. The ministry stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to achieve a ceasefire, return to a political framework and dialogue, and move forward in the transitional phase towards the desired political and security stability in Sudan.
