Florentino Pérez, president of Real Madrid, has not forgotten the slap he received from Kylian Mbappé, the star of Paris Saint-Germain, two years ago. Wilfried, the father of Mbappé, reached out to Pérez to apologize for what he described as "rude behavior" at that time. Kylian Mbappé has announced his departure from Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the current season, and although he hasn’t disclosed his future destination, all sources suggest he will don the jersey of the Spanish giant next summer.
Despite reaching an agreement with the famous French star, it seems Pérez has not moved past the shock when everyone was anticipating the announcement of Mbappé signing with Real Madrid, only for him to appear unexpectedly at the "Parc des Princes" after signing a two-year contract with Paris, with an option for a third year.
Spanish outlet "Defensa Central," which focuses on Real Madrid news, reported on Tuesday that Wilfried Mbappé contacted Pérez to apologize for what transpired in the summer of 2022. The site added that Wilfried acknowledged that what happened was a "rude" act by his family and his son, stating: "We made a mistake by signing with Paris Saint-Germain in 2022 despite our agreement at that time, and we hope to turn over a new leaf together."
Mbappé will leave the French capital team after seven seasons, during which he became their all-time leading scorer with 256 goals in 307 matches.
