Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia has ordered the urgent transport of player Yasser Al-Shahrani via a private jet to receive treatment in Germany after suffering a serious injury during the match between Saudi Arabia and Argentina today. Al-Shahrani sustained a severe injury during the match, which ended with Saudi Arabia winning 2-1, due to a direct collision with his teammate goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais. The Saudi team has not disclosed the duration of Yasser Al-Shahrani's absence from play.
Yasser fell to the ground for several minutes, during which the Saudi goalkeeper was extremely panicked for his teammate due to the severity of the collision, which involved the goalkeeper's knee hitting the player's head. Due to the severity of the injury, the medical staff requested the coaching staff to make a substitution as the player was unable to continue the match.
After medical imaging, Yasser Al-Shahrani was found to have a fracture in his jaw and the left side of his facial bones, requiring immediate surgical intervention due to internal bleeding.
Additionally, following the Saudi victory against Argentina, King Salman bin Abdulaziz has declared that tomorrow, Wednesday, will be a holiday for all employees in all government sectors, the private sector, and for students at all educational levels.
