Title: Family Kidnapped in Sidon, Ransom Demanded for Their Release

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces announced in a statement that "on January 27, 2024, unknown individuals kidnapped (M.R., born in 1981, Syrian), his wife, and their two children from the town of Al-Bayseriya - Sidon. The kidnappers beat (M.R.) and tortured him, filming the process and sending the videos to his relatives in Syria and Sweden, demanding a ransom of $4,000 in exchange for their release or threatening to kill them."

The statement continued: "Immediately, the relevant units of the Internal Security Forces began field and intelligence operations to identify the perpetrators, arrest them, and free the kidnapped individuals. As a result of extensive investigations and inquiries, the Information Branch was able to identify the kidnappers, who are: A.R.K. (born in 1990, Syrian), A.T. (born in 1986, Syrian), and M.T. (born in 2001, Syrian)."

The statement added: "On January 29, 2024, after careful surveillance, patrols from the branch located the hostages in an apartment of the first suspect in the Al-Qelahtha area - Al-Koura. They executed a raid on the apartment, arrested the first suspect, and liberated the kidnapped individuals. Simultaneously, the second and third suspects were arrested in the town of Fi'a - Al-Koura. Their search yielded mobile phones, and the second suspect was found with two identity cards belonging to the kidnapped man and his wife.

During the interrogation, the first suspect confessed to being the mastermind behind the kidnapping, carried out with the assistance of the second and third suspects. They had held the kidnapped individuals in his home, beat (M.R.), tortured him, filmed the acts, and sent the videos to his relatives to extort them for money. The second and third suspects also confessed to the charges against them. Legal measures were taken against them, and they were detained along with the confiscated items based on judicial directions."
