The Minister of Interior and Municipalities in the caretaker government, Bassam Mawlawi, confirmed that "activating the emergency plan in all governorates is essential, and the purpose of this matter is not to instill fear but to reassure the people." He considered that "Lebanon is a country of faith, and the government stands in solidarity with the South, which is part of our community." Mawlawi's statements came during his visit to the Sidon Serail, where he was received by the Governor of the South, Mansour Dwa, along with a team of security officials at the provincial level, led by the commander of the Southern Regional Security Forces, Brigadier General Majed Al-Ayoubi, Commander of Sidon Brigade, Brigadier General Basim Yahya, Head of Information at General Security, Brigadier General Ali Hbeit, Director of the Regional Office for General Security, Brigadier General Ali Qateish, Director of Information Branch in the South, Brigadier General Zahir Asi, Major Charbel Habib (from the Southern Information Detachment), Head of Sidon Office for General Security, Captain Ziad Al-Asta, Director of Sidon-Jezine Information, Major Fouad Ramadan, and Captain Walid Awad from General Security. Mawlawi is scheduled to later move to the Nabatieh governorate accompanied by Governor Dwa, and then to the city of Tyre to review the conditions of the centers for displaced people from the border villages and the readiness to respond in the two governorates within the emergency plan established by the Cabinet.
