Crime Shakes Rashaya: Brother Kills Sibling and Flees

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: "On October 3, 2023, in the town of Al-Aqba in the Rashaya district, a young man, R.H. (born in 1999, Lebanese), was shot in the back and was taken to a hospital where he soon died." The statement further added, "Following this incident, specialized units of the Internal Security Forces began their procedures to uncover the circumstances of the crime. As a result of extensive investigations, the Information Division revealed that the incident stemmed from family disputes, and the shooter is the victim's brother, M.H. (born in 2006, Lebanese), who fled the scene after the crime." It continued, "On the same date, after a thorough follow-up conducted by the division's patrols, they were able to locate M.H.'s hiding place in the Al-Aqba area, where they arrested him." The statement concluded, "During the investigation, he confessed to the charges against him regarding shooting his brother and killing him, as a result of a family dispute that occurred about six months ago, during which R.H. shot M.H. in the foot. M.H. had to claim that his injury resulted from an accidental discharge during play with a hunting rifle. Legal proceedings were initiated against him, and he was referred to the competent authority based on judicial instructions."
