The U.S. Supreme Court has refused to consider a request to bar former President Donald Trump from participating in the presidential election. According to statements from the Supreme Court, "the petition to review this case has been denied." Previously, Republican John Castro filed a lawsuit against Trump, insisting that the former president should not be allowed to hold elected office due to a constitutional amendment that prohibits "rebels" from holding office. Trump has faced multiple charges during the trial, including allegations of fraud for inflating the value of his assets over a decade by amounts ranging from $812 million to $2.2 billion to secure loans for building a golf resort in Miami, a hotel in Washington, and a hotel in Chicago. Trump described his trial for asset inflation in New York as a "farce" and the attorney general who filed the case as "corrupt."
