Meta Launches Enhanced AI Assistant Meta AI Across Its Platforms

Meta has started rolling out its enhanced AI assistant, Meta AI, across its platforms, powered by the new large language model Llama 3. The smart assistant will be available on Meta's social platforms, such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger. Meta AI can answer questions, generate images and animations, provide restaurant recommendations, assist with vacation planning, and display search results from Google and Bing. Users can try it for free.

Meta's AI assistant will also be available on the website "Meta.ai", allowing users to utilize it for other tasks like solving math problems or drafting professional emails, with the capability to save conversations for later reference. Meta has also added image generation features to the Meta AI assistant in the WhatsApp messaging app, which will be available in the beta version of WhatsApp and on the Meta.ai website. Users will see generated images appear while typing, and the assistant will offer suggestions to alter or enhance the images, with the option to convert them into GIFs.

Meta's AI assistant is currently available in English on WhatsApp in the United States, and the company announced the rollout in English in more countries, including Australia, Canada, Ghana, Jamaica, Malawi, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, with plans to expand to more countries later.
