Many residents of Sweida province gathered in "Martyrs' Square" in the city today, Friday, for a central demonstration affirming their demands for peaceful change and political transition in the country. Local sources reported participation from residents of various areas and towns in the province, as well as from gatherings and sectors of Sweida, calling for the release of detainees and the implementation of UN resolution 2254. Demonstrators continued to raise slogans and chants demanding freedom, the establishment of a citizen state, and political change in the country. Local media sources reported yesterday the death of citizen "Jamal Shaheen Al-Mutani" in detention, noting that he held American citizenship. Sweida continues its 289th day of popular uprising, reaffirming its demands for a state of justice and law and the implementation of UN resolution 2254.
